Teachers Apply for D.C. TripArticle published on Friday, November 18, 2011 Two South Carolina high school teachers or guidance counselors will be chosen to serve as chaperones on the 2012 Washington Youth Tour, set for June 16-21. Every June, South Carolina's electric co-ops send high school juniors on an expense-paid trip to Washington. The trip is coordinated by The Electric Cooperatives of South Carolina, Inc. For more information, visit YouthTour.coop. While in D.C., selected teachers will chaperone the students, visit monuments, meet South Carolina's lawmakers and mingle with more than 1,500 students from across the country. WIRE Opportunity Scholarship for Women 02.10.2012Applications are being taken for a $2,500 scholarship for women awarded annually by WIRE, a community service organization affiliated with electric cooperatives in South Carolina, including Lynches River Electric Cooperative. Altman Selected as Alliance Development Council Co-chair 01.31.2012David Altman, president and CEO of Lynches River Electric Cooperative, has been selected as a co-chair on Chesterfield County Economic Development Alliance's Development Council.
2012 Washington Youth Tour 01.16.2012Lynches River Electric Cooperative will award an expense-paid week in Washington, D.C. to two high school junior. This year's Youth Tour is June 16-21.
