Juniors—Win Free Trip to Washington, D.C.

Lynches River Electric Cooperative will award an expense-paid week in Washington, D.C. to two high school juniors. This year's tour is June 16-21.

Applications for the tour are available at the Lynches River Electric Cooperative office, online at lynchesriver.com and from high school guidance counselors in the cooperative's service area. The deadline for submitting applications is Friday, February 17.

Finalist will be selected to appear for an interview by a committee of judges. At the time of the interview, they will take a short test on their knowledge of electric cooperatives.

As participants in the tour, delegates will travel to their nation's capital for six days of non-stop activities. Students will meet their legislators, visit historic sites, learn about cooperatives and make friends with high school juniors from across the country.

Youth Tour winners are eligible to compete for a $2,500 college scholarship awarded to one South Carolina tour participant by The Electric Cooperatives of South Carolina, Inc.

Over 1,400 high school juniors from 39 states will meet in Washington for the tour, that has been conducted for more than 40 years.
