Do you know what is easier and less stressful than a New Year’s resolution? A straightforward, unchallenging to-do list. It can provide a sense of accomplishment with every item you check off. I’m sure you’ve already got plenty to do in 2022, but allow me to offer a simple to-do list especially for Lynches River members.
Update your info
It’s important that we have all your accurate telephone numbers, especially in the event of an interruption of service. If you call about a power outage from a number that is not associated with your account, we can’t immediately determine the location of the outage. If you have changed or added phone numbers since you became a member, call our member care center at (843) 672-6111 and provide an update.
Outage preparation
Extended outages are less common in the winter, but your electric co-op always prepares for them, and we advise you to do the same. Make sure your flashlights have fresh batteries, your firewood is stocked and you’ve got a way to communicate during a loss of power. See more tips and resources for outage preparation and to keep track of our restoration efforts.
Help us Beat The Peak
Join the tens of thousands of electric cooperative members across South Carolina that have signed up to receive phone, email, or text notifications reminding them to reduce their electricity consumption during peak use periods. By voluntarily delaying the use of large appliances, adjusting your thermostat, or just turning off some lights during that peak time, you’ll help lower wholesale power costs. Visit BeatThePeak.com to register and you’ll be entered into future drawings for Visa gift cards.
Put us on your calendar
As you are filling out your 2022 LREC calendar, available for free in our drive-thru and lobby, make sure to include your co-op. This year’s Annual Meeting will take place on Oct. 15. We hope you can come, and we look forward to seeing you.
Simplify your billing
Make planning easier all year long by signing up for our levelized bill program. By billing you based on a 12-month average, changes in climate and energy consumption will make less of an impact on your monthly charges. Members must be in good standing and have been an LREC member for a consecutive year at the same location to qualify for this program. You can also sign up for automatic bank drafts or set up an electronic auto payment. Call our member services center for more information.
Get your Co-op Connections card
Did you know your co-op has a program to help you save on a variety of goods and services, from hotel discounts to fitness club memberships? The Co-op Connections Card is free to Lynches River members and can save on everyday expenses. There are also healthcare savings on products like pharmaceuticals, vision care, and lab work. You can learn more about the discounts we offer by visiting connections.coop.
Whatever your plans are for this year, I hope 2022 is your best yet.
