At the 2026 Annual Meeting, to be held Oct. 2-3, trustees for District 2, District 4 and District 5 are up for election. A nominating committee, selected by the Board of Trustees, shall nominate one nominee for each vacancy. But, any one (1) percent or more members may make other nominations in writing over their signatures (petition).
A person seeking nomination for a trustee position, whether through the committee on nomination or by petition, must submit information sufficient to enable a background check to be conducted and any information relating to the person’s eligibility to serve as a Trustee by the July 10 deadline. A packet containing the required forms may be picked up at the LREC office.
To be nominated, you must meet the qualifications listed in Article 3 of the bylaws and be nominated by one (1) percent of members. Petitions must be turned in by Aug. 4.
In addition to the required petition, candidates must attend a Board-developed educational program on cooperative history, operations, and governance prior to Aug. 4 or have a minimum of three (3) years of service as an electric cooperative Trustee.
The educational requirement will be offered at the Cooperative on two (2) specified dates prior to the petition deadline. Candidates must have attended one (1) Annual Meeting in the past three (3) years.
