RiverNet Connect releases products and pricing

April 10, 2020

PAGELAND • RiverNet Connect, powered by Lynches River Electric Cooperative, announced its residential and business internet packages and pricing on Friday, April 10.

Residential packages start off at $59.95 per month for 300 Mbps upload and download, no contract needed.  Other products include a pro-residential plan with 1 Gbps speeds (equal to 1000 Mbps), voice services, wi-fi boosters and a variety of business internet packages. Visit www.RiverNetConnect.com to view all products. Customers are not required to purchase voice service to receive internet. Each package requires a one-time install and equipment fee with their first month’s bill.

“With RiverNet our goal has always been to provide affordable, high-quality and reliable internet service to our rural communities,” said Brian Broughton, President & CEO of Lynches River Electric Cooperative. “We reflected these goals when creating these products and we hope our neighbors agree.”

RiverNet Connect began construction on Phase One of their fiber optic network at the beginning of February. The first RiverNet customers are expected to be connected by the end of May and service will be available to over 6,000 homes by the end of 2020. At this time, only LREC members are eligible to receive service through RiverNet Connect.

The exact location of Phase One is still being finalized. Interested individuals should pre-register for service at www.RiverNetConnect.com. LREC members that have registered their interest will be contacted to select their products and complete their registration when RiverNet is prepared to bring service to their area.

RiverNet Connect’s fiber optic internet will bring a new standard of rural broadband to Lancaster, Chesterfield, and Kershaw counties. With fiber, data can be sent up to 1,000 times faster than traditional copper and the service can reach Gigabit (1000 Mbps) speeds and beyond. The network won’t slow down when streaming on multiple devices or because more people are connected during certain times of the day.
